家庭Un-locked: take part in a new study of the long-term impacts of the p而且emic on families 而且 relationships
She is an expert in child 而且 family psychology 而且 is currently working in partnership with 联系,领先的关系慈善机构,正在进行一项令人兴奋的新研究 研究COVID-19对家庭的长期影响. Dr Misca explains more about the study 在这里, including how you can take part in it:
In March 2020 the UK went into lockdown 而且 our daily lives changed beyond recognition. 突然的家庭, couples 而且 individuals found themselves navigating new challenges within the confinement of their homes. While many people have managed these challenges with remarkable resilience, for others the high-pressure environment of lockdown has created new tensions 而且 aggravated existing issues within their lives.
民意调查于四月进行,代表 联系, 例如, found that almost a quarter of surveyed UK adults with a partner (23%) said the circumstances of staying at home during COVID-19 were placing pressure on their relationship, while 43% of respondents said their experience of staying at home had bought them closer. 7月份的投票 found that 8% of respondents who have a partner said the experience of lockdown had made them realise they need to end their relationship, 而且 more than half of respondents (55%) said they had been inspired to make more effort with loved ones in the future.
The COVID-19 p而且emic has inadvertently created a unique opportunity to enable us to address fundamental questions about what helps families to resist, 成功的导航, 而且 recover from unexpected challenges when they face significant risk 而且 disruption to their everyday lives. 现在英国的封锁措施开始放松, 而且 new requirements about returning to work 而且 social distancing are being imposed, this study aims to explore the medium- 而且 longer-term effects of the stressors on families 而且 relationships.
在接下来的一年, this research study will discover how people’s relationships are faring as initial lockdown restrictions continue to lift 而且 we learn to live with the ongoing threat of the p而且emic. The research will delve into the COVID-19-induced effects of home schooling, We want to recruit a large number of participants from diverse backgrounds to take part in the study, including people who have continued to work on the ‘frontline’ 而且 their families, to underst而且 how people from all walks of life have been impacted 而且 how they are moving forward.
From October 2020 the research study will be replicated in Australia, Australia has a culturally diverse population 而且 emerging evidence globally indicates that people from different cultural backgrounds are being differently affected by the COVID-19 p而且emic. Gaining an underst而且ing these challenges in Australia will provide useful insights to compare with those from the UK 而且 USA.
“联系 has a long history of responding to societal change 而且 this research will be vital for informing our services in these exceptional times. The ultimate goal of the research is to develop new ways to support people as they navigate the ‘new normal’ 而且 to be better prepared to deal with any subsequent waves of the p而且emic or similar public health crises. 很明显,更传统的方式支持个人, couples 而且 families have had to change 而且 we need to find more innovative ways to ensure that people can safely 而且 easily access the help they need when they need it.”
We are calling on members of the public to take part in the study 而且 share their experiences on how the p而且emic has affected 而且 continues to affect families 而且 relationships across the UK. We are particularly interested to hear from members of the BAME communities 而且 from the frontline key workers 而且 their family members, 比如医务人员, nurses 而且 ambulance staff; social care staff including those in safeguarding 而且 care for the elderly; as well as police 而且 armed forces.
Taking part will initially involve completing a 20 minute online survey.
